Hey Y'all!!!
Sorry, bad habit to break after living in the South for 6 years! I am super excited to start my 3rd year here at Skyline High School. I am a Washington native, growing up in Auburn and attending Auburn Riverside! I graduated from Western Washington University in 2007 after some time at WSU and GRCC. After 8 years of professional work experience, I am pumped to be in the classroom molding young minds!
I am currently the tv pro, web design, graphic design and sptv teacher! I am also entering my 3rd year as the Skyline Girls Varsity Basketball coach. I also server as the Computer Science, Film Club and TSA adviser. I love chaperoning dances, attending sporting events and yuckin it up with students and teachers.
After a few years of bee-boppin around Spain, Seattle and Newport Beach, CA, I landed my first broadcasting job at WABG in Greenville, MS. It was as much of a culture shock as you could imagine! I was the Weekend Sports Anchor and Weekday Sport Reporter for three years covering high school and college athletics. It was easily the biggest character-building time in my life and I will always be grateful. There were definitely aspects of Mississippi I loved, but a lot of things were foreign to this PNW'er. (they don't recycle)
After three years, I moved to Dallas, TX to work for Conference USA and Fox Sports Southwest. I acted as the Director of Digital media for a 16 member conference. The people and the travel made my time incredibly special. I wrote, produced and anchored a weekly magazine-style show highlighting the events and accomplishments of C-USA athletics. I traveled to all of our member institutions for football games and championships, spending over half the year on the road! Meeting new people across the Southwest was the highlight of it all.
I returned to Seattle in 2014 to work at the University of Washington in the Tyee Club while obtaining my masters in education with an emphasis in athletic leadership. My heart wasn't in fundraising and I knew it was time for the ol' switcheroo into teaching.
